Home Business: The “Easy” Misconception Clarified

Instant results and immediate gratification are what people expect when they start a home business. But after the initial excitement of a new home business wears off, most people are left dejected. Don’t let the initial storms of a home business deter you from your goal of success. In the beginning you will experience, just like every one else has experienced, the situation of having more money going out then coming in. Most people drop out of the race as soon as adversity hits and go back to their previous jobs. All this stems from the misconception that starting and maintaining a business, in the early stages, is easy. But for those that see beyond the struggle, prosperity awaits.

The idea that starting any business much less a home business is easy, meaning involving little or no effort, should be set next to Santa and his reindeer because it is most definitely high-flying fiction. Any successful home business entrepreneur will tell you that when they began, they spent a good amount of time in front of the computer setting up their venture. It was only after they put in time, that their business became easy. They can make money when they are sleeping or just by sending out a few emails, but it all came from they time they spent on their business.

Now you may be asking yourself, “Well if starting a home business isn’t easy, how can people who know nothing about the computer make the type of money that I want to make?” Although beginning a home business is not easy, the key to success lies in simplicity.

Creating your own home business is simple, meaning made up uncomplicated directions that require no special knowledge. That is how internet novices can take their ideas and create wealth. They have found a SIMPLE system and followed it EXACTLY. Money and freedom follow soon after.

The hope of your business succeeding is found in your diligence to do the simple system and mirror its success. It cannot come from sitting back and waiting for something to happen or for someone else to do it for you. Toss the “easy theory” of home business out the window and embrace the simple nature of success. Once you do, your progress will never stop.

Work At Home the Low Risk Way

It’s a dream for many people to own their own business. People want the freedom to earn a good living while being their own boss. They could have the flexibility to do whatever they want. This dream for many however, ends with a high price tag – including the loss of people’s personal savings and homes.

Traditional small business required leasing a building or some kind of office space to start up operations with. High startup costs were also incurred with either capital equipment requirements or product inventory.

Along with these costs came the need to hire and train qualified employees. Operational policies and procedures needed to be written and enforced.

Starting this kind of small business requires a lot of money and effort. It also assumes you have a product or service which people want to buy. If they do not, all this work is in vain.

Bottom line is that starting a traditional business is a high risk venture. According to the US Small Business Administration, over 50% of small businesses fail in the first year and 95% fail with the first five years. Talk about risk! Sure, the rewards are great, but only 5% make it this far.

Much of this risk correlates with the experience level of people starting a new business. They can see the end result, but how to get there can be difficult to achieve without having learned or experienced it. But learning does not come unless they risk – so they risk.

Today, the internet has changed the business world dramatically. An online business can simply be started with a website and the whole world becomes potential customers. An average person can do this without investing large amounts of money.

An online business is still a business and people need to treat it this way. But learning it can be done without all the risk associated with a traditional business startup. If fact, one could even do this an hour or two part time each day.

An online business could be as simple as displaying ads for other company products on your website. Visitors would click on these ads which would bring them to another company’s website who would sell the visitor on their product. If they buy, you receive a commission for sending them – no inventory, selling or order handling.

Other kinds of ads placed on your site can bring you a commission simply by having the visitor click on the ad. For example, the ad could be for a different “work at home opportunity”. The visitor would click on the ad and you would instantly earn whether or not the person buys from this seller. The seller is willing to pay for this kind of advertising because they know that based on a given number of clicks, a certain percentage of those people will buy their product or service and they can make money overall.

Building a team of other people below you may be more to your liking, otherwise known as multi-level-marketing. You earn commission from the sales of every one of these people in addition to the commission you earn from your own sales.

All this probably sounds just a little too easy? Well, you’re right. It’s not simply a matter of creating a website and people will come and spend their money. It takes time and persistence to follow the internet marketing techniques required to generate sufficient traffic to your website and earn a large income.

The point is however, that starting an online business CAN be learned by average people without investing large sums of money. It’s not completely risk free; you’ll need to invest time into it. But starting a business of any kind is not easy, so why not start one without betting the farm on it?

There is no time better than today to start a work at home business!

Can You Ever Be Successful Working From Home?

It is an appealing thought to hundreds of thousands of people to work from home. You will find a multitude of media stories that are related to those who have left their full-time careers to work in their own extremely successful home-based businesses. While the idea itself is appealing, it is not exactly simple to establish or make it a success. This article contains advice on what you should know to become successful working from home.

The most important aspect of working from home is that the individual must be able to separate their work life from their home life. The reality is that this can be a pretty difficult feat to accomplish. It is all too easy to become enveloped in the aspects of running the business and, without even realizing it, neglect the household issues such as laundry, ironing, television and cleaning the house. One critical aspect, the attention you need to give to your family. It could also be the opposite. You focus more on the household duties than the duties to your business the result - poor returns for your investment and effort to your Home-Based Business. Because of all these issues, being disciplined and strong minded in these areas are a necessity.

You need to plan your work schedule and should work to a specific set hours for work time, have an office separate from the rest of the house and make the office solely for work. Another aspect of becoming successful is to have the belief in yourself and in the abilities you have. In this Business, you are going to have your difficulties, no doubt about that. You may find that some days are easier to pass than others, but if you believe in yourself, you can make it through these tough times with flying colors.

It is important that you maintain the motivations that brought you into this Business. You are the Owner, Manager and Employee of this Business, you may not have anyone to turn to when you have problems. You have no one above you to ensure that you are working or any colleagues to talk to or discuss about various ideas. These situations have put many people into a rut. Bear in mind that there are many benefits in having a home-based business but you need to keep your motivation going because Success is what you make it out to be. One good quality for a person to cultivate in a home-based business is to build a Strong Positive Attitude.

Another key aspect is to save money when the going is good, when business is smooth with growing income because you have a good amount of work coming in. These savings can help when business or if things slow down at some point in time. Remember do rewards or give yourself a pat for good effort done once in awhile as these self recognitions have a way of giving you the positive boost in bringing your Home-Based Business forward to the next level.

Personally I find that there is nothing greater than having the sense of pride that comes with running your own business and working in the comfort of your home. You have the opportunity to realize your dreams and definitely live a better lifestyle when you achieve SUCCESS.

Work at Home: A Perspective (Hiree's Point of View)

In the present global context, work at home concept has become much popular among the masses. In the coming days also, the same is expected to gain further momentum. Even though, work at home has its own inherent disadvantages, still it may offer several benefits to a home worker. Next few lines are spelt to enumerate a broad sketch of such advantages and disadvantages which a home worker generally extracts from such offer.

Benefits:

1. There is no need for a home worker to leave home and be away from family. Work may be attended from the comfort of own home which otherwise would not have been possible for regular office employment.

2. A Home Worker gets rescue from commuting daily to a distant office place. This leads to a great saving of time and money.

3. Unlike office duty, there is no time bound attendance and fixed schedule for work at home. It may be finished in spare time leisurely after satisfying all other personal and family needs.

4. Official decorum is completely done away with, either in the form of dress code or any decorum of whatsoever. In several cases it results in reduction of expenses also.

5. More time may be spent with family or devoted in other business activity. This may generate additional earnings.

6. Office remuneration is fixed as determined by regulatory authority or sometimes by mutual negotiation between the representatives of employees and the management. Individual worker has no say to augment the wages, whereas, in home based work, every individual can boost up his earnings by devoting more time to the extent possible.

7. Sometimes regular office duties may develop official boredom syndrome by being with the same set of furniture in the same premises and working with same colleagues. But this possibility does not exist for work at home.

8. There is no eagle’s eye of supervision by way of follow up from office boss for work at home.

9. Huge work force which could not secure a permanent office work and even the retired persons, students or housewives also can manage to earn something by work at home.

Drawbacks:

1. Permanent and regular remuneration is not assured in case of work from home. It’s based on no work no pay principle.

2. Superannuation benefits which accumulate to some handful amount are not available for home workers. But this facility exists for regular office workers.

3. Office workers get their remuneration enhanced by bargaining through their union or association. But this is not possible for home workers, since the home based workers has no forum to fight with.

4. Job security for home workers is completely absent as they are simply hired for the particular contract and have no right to claim regular employment.

5. Compensation of any nature either for accident or death can not be claimed by home workers which otherwise would have been available for regular office workers.

Why Do People Fail In Home Business

It is a question being asked every day, with the advent of internet marketing. It is quite easy for anyone with a computer and internet connection to get into business. There are plenty of opportunities out there to get set up in business.

Unfortunately, set up is the dominant theme here and not business. Just because you are in business, does not mean you know how to operate a business. And the most important question everyone should ask themselves is how will I get customers?

Do you know anything about selling? Do you know how to run a business? What about marketing, advertising or recruiting. The picture is painted all so rosy for you by the MLM gurus that anyone can just put up a website and make money.

It just isn’t true. You have to have a lot of knowledge and a lot of persistence to succeed in business. It may be harder to succeed in business on the internet than in the brick and mortar world, if the truth were known.

However it is not impossible for the little guy to make it, but people certainly deserve to know the facts before they jump in.

I would describe myself as a dreamer. I have tried many business opportunities inside and outside the internet and I always look for a way to succeed.

Like you, I have been disappointed many times, but I have had success a few times as well. The dreamer never stops looking forward for an opportunity that will work for him or her.

I just want you to keep your eyes open and do nott be afraid to ask questions. Most of the junk you see disguised as a business opportunity is just plain fraud and lies.

So how do you work around all that? By being very skeptical and asking a lot of questions. The people, who are afraid of your questions, usually have something to hide or they just don’t have any answers.

From these people you should certainly run. Click away fast as you can.

Why is it that even the good programs don’t seem to work for everyone? You are presented with a great product and a good marketing plan, as least on paper, but when you try it no one wants to hear it.

Your friends and family certainly do not welcome your phone calls and emails. They just want to be left alone. They do not share your dreams. So do not try to impose them on them if you want to keep them as friends?

Coastal Vacations, PAS and other programs require a large investment of money up front. It is true that these programs have proven to be legitimate, legal and successful for many people. However it is also true that many people fail at these programs too.

Why is that? Well the simple reason is that not everyone knows how to sell, or even where to start. The internet has given us many great tools to give us all an equal chance to easily enter the marketplace and that is a good thing.

However it does not guarantee success. Most businesses still end up failing within the first year. I am constantly looking for ways to improve my marketing methods and therefore improve my business.

There are many fine articles and training courses on marketing available. If you are going to try a home based business, you should start with educating yourself in all areas that you will need.

Don’t be duped into thinking it is an easy task, and all you have to do is sign up and all your problems will be solved and you will be making $1000 a day by next Wednesday.

Can You Replace Your Income Working At Home?

I get this question a lot from my listeners and readers. The easy answer has to be Yes, you can, but, I usually like to find out a little more about the person before I start handing out easy answers.

What is your current income?

I have a good friend in Gaylord who was only making about $150 a week working part time. She easily replaced and increased her income with a home based business in about six months.

Then I have a niece who earns $37,000 a year working for the state. Could she replace her income? Yes, with some major effort, creativity and perseverance she could. But it would likely take much longer than six months.

What would you like to do to work from home?

I’ve gained a lot of perspective and understanding in my years in the work at home mom community. Some business ideas have great earning potential, some have limited income potential and some ideas in my humble opinion have pretty crappy potential.

So if you ask me if you can do this or that and replace your income, my answer will depend a lot on what the ‘this or that’ may be.

What are you willing to give up to work at home?

If you enjoy a high income and you have children you’re trying to get home to, working to build up a business that will replace that income while keeping up with the full time job isn’t really a good idea. It usually doesn’t leave much time for the kids.

So making a transition to working at home full time will usually involve giving up some lifestyle.

My niece who makes thirty seven grand a year also enjoys terrific health benefits. She is also not alone in the fact that she has built up her lifestyle to meet her present income. This means that her house and car payments rely on her present income. For her to decide that she would stay home full time – it would mean giving something up.

There are exceptions and you could be one.

I worked my home business part time for four years while still working full time and eventually replaced my income in doing so. Truthfully though, I didn’t start out with that expectation. I thought I was just working to earn some extra money to pay the bills and ended up falling in love with it.

The thing to realize is that I am a single Mom with one home schooled teenager. This is quite a bit different from the mom who is juggling three kids and a hubby or even another single Mom with a very small child. The high wire balancing act worked for me because I didn’t have to get up nights for feedings, get up early for school routines or race around town keeping up with extra curricular activities.

If you want to make the leap to working at home full time, do realize that you’ll need to make some adjustments. If you’ve painted yourself into a corner with your income, you may have to design a transition that takes a couple years rather than just a couple of weeks. If I could give you one piece of advice it would be:

Sacrifice creature comforts, not the kids.

I’m all for sacrificing a car or giving up getting your nails done to be able to stay home full time with the kids. I’m not at all wild about the parent who pushes the kids aside so that they can make more money now so that someday they can spend more time with them.

5 Advantages of Working at Home

There are a multitude of advantages of getting out of the grind, starting your own business and working at home. Working at home can be a risky proposition, but if successful you’re going to enjoy a much more fulfilling life and so will your family. In addition to that, keep in mind that the wealthiest out there work for themselves.

Work at Home Advantage 1:
Being there for your family!! Who are the most important people in your life? That’s right, your family!! By working for yourself at home you will be able to set your own hours AND be available when your family needs you. You won’t have to ask some boss permission if it’s okay for you to take your son or daughter to the dentist, YOU ARE THE BOSS.

Work at Home Advantage 2:
Working from home will actually save you money!! Yep, you read that correctly, you will save money working at home. You can say goodbye to that HUGE daycare bill, you’re working at home the kids do not need a babysitter. With the current rise in gas prices and auto repair working at home will keep gas in your tank and the wear off of your vehicle. If you use public transportation to get to work, well…YOU ARE WORKING AT HOME, no need to buy that bus pass anymore.

Work at Home Advantage 3:
Every weekend off!! Of course, this is optional. That’s right, it’s optional and is 100% up to you (look in the mirror, you’re working at home and you’re the boss remember). Ever wonder why most events are held on the weekends? Because there was once a time when most people didn’t work weekends, but in this day and age it is rare to find a job where you don’t have to work at least some Saturday’s or Sunday’s, or (egads!!) both!! By working at home you will be able to be one of the few who has every weekend off.

Work at Home Advantage 4:
Dress Code!! Working at home offers you the opportunity to dress exactly how you feel like dressing. Heck, if you don’t want to get dressed, then don’t!! There are a ton of work at home business owners who get out of bed, make some coffee and start working with nothing on but their underwear and, maybe, a pair of slippers.

Work at Home Advantage 5:
Your time is YOURS!! Oh yeah!! Use your time however you want to use your time, you are the one in charge now and you can be as efficient or as non-efficient as you want to be (warning, too much inefficiency may cause you to have to go work for somebody else again!). You set your own start time, your own stop time, your own break time…it’s all your time!!

How To Work At Home Promoting Affiliate Programs

If you’ve been on the Internet any length of time, you’ve probably heard about affiliate programs. You may even have heard of the people who are making six or even seven figure incomes solely through the promotion of affiliate products. However, despite what some people may lead you to believe, making money with affiliate programs is not as simple as signing up for a program and then sitting back to watch as the money pours in. In fact, it’s anything but! The reality is, good money can be made through promoting affiliate products, but those who do make the good money have put in a great deal of hard work first.

If you are determined to go ahead and earn money through the promotion of affiliate products, then it’s a great idea to know where to start. Many people say that you don’t need a website to create an income through affiliate sales, but the best affiliates have websites of their own. If you think having a website is too expensive, think again. Most people who don’t have websites have to use paid advertising to make their sales (for example, through the Google Adwords program), which can add up to a lot of money very quickly. However, a website only need cost as much as a domain name and cheap hosting. To find out more about these, check out GoDaddy or iPowerweb (although there are many other domain name providers and hosting providers out there, if you’re willing to do a bit of research).

What if you know nothing about html or website design? What if you want to get started straight away and really don’t have the funds to get going? There is a completely free option to creating your own website without knowing anything at all about website creation, and that’s through the use of blogs. A simple blogger blog is free, easy to use, and you can get started immediately creating your own web presence. One of the best things about blogger blogs is that they also get spidered by the search engines quickly and regularly (especially Google, which owns blogger). If you don’t know what that means, that’s okay. It basically just means that your site is likely to get indexed by the search engines quickly, so people will be able to find your site when they do a search of the major search engines.

Okay, so you’ve got a website, and you want affiliate products to promote. You also want to know the best ways to promote these affiliate products so you actually induce people to buy the products you’re advertising! A good place to start is with Clickbank. It’s free to join, and you can promote any of their products. Of course, there are a lot of products to choose from! The best idea is to find a niche, or a topic you’re interested in, and create your site around it. Then look for products that fit into that particular niche. One of the best ways of promoting affiliate products is to do an honest review of the product you’re promoting. Of course, it helps if you own the product! Nevertheless, many people successfully promote products they don’t own. (And if you’re starting from scratch and don’t have the money to purchase multiple products then you’re probably going to have to wing it a little).

All Clickbank products have their own website page (the one any potential purchaser will be taken to when they click on your affiliate link). If you want to write a review of the product, that sales page is an excellent page to start. Most sellers do a pretty good job of promoting their products (if they’re at all successful) and you can use the benefits they’ve highlighted in their sales pitch to write your review around.

There’s a lot more to becoming a success as an affiliate marketer than the simple steps I've just outlined, but once you know where to begin, you can start pretty much straight away. Once you want more information, there are tons of books and resources online (many of which are free) which will help you in your quest to know more and become more successful.

How To Manage Time In A Home-Based Online Business

Don't we all want more money rolling in? Most people would like to start some sort of extra money-making project, especially at home. The problem is, not many of these people seem able to fit "a second job" into their time schedules.

So how do you manage your time?

True, most people are busy, but extra time for some sort of home-based venture can be achieved. It's called time-management.

It may mean giving up or changing a few of your favorite pastimes - such as spending time at the club or watching TV.

Think again. If you make it big with your extra income project, you will have all the time in the world for doing whatever you want to do.

Taking Your First Step:

Firstly, sit down and list your daily schedule. When do you wake up? Then step-by-step, list everything you do each day.

Most people have about three hours each day that can be utilized in a more constructive or efficient manner.

It will be worth it in the long run if you start to employ efficient time management. It all boils down to planning what you're going to do, and then doing it without backtracking.

Make a list of the things you want to do tomorrow and each evening before you go to bed.

Schedule your trips to the supermarket or wherever to coincide with the other things you have to do, and with your trips to or from work.

Organize your trips to take care of as many things as possible while you're out of the house.

Stop Shooting The Breeze:

Take stock of the time you spend standing around shooting the breeze - especially the time you spend on the telephone or gossiping with the neighbour - and eliminate all that isn't necessary.

Whatever chores you have to do at home, set aside a specific time to do them, and a specific amount of time to devote to them.

Don't try to do your work in one big flurry. Just do a part of it, or one particular job each day, and you'll be amazed at your progress.

Take care of all your mail the day you receive it. Don't let those bills and letters pile up on you. If you're unable to pay a bill immediately, file it in a special place that's visible, and note on the envelope the date you intend to pay it. Answer your letters the same day you get them.

Time Is Yours, But It's Precious:

The important thing is to think of time as your most valuable asset, because it is. So get organized. Decide what you have to do, and what you want to do. From there, it's just a matter of arranging priorities.

Start to list and plan what you want to do, and then carry out your plans. And you'll discover that you'll find plenty of "extra time" for handling virtually any kind of home-based businesses.

Know the secret. All financially successful people are simply well organized . They do not waste time.

Think about it. Review your own activities, and then see if you can't find a couple of extra hours in each day for more constructive accomplishments.

And A Time To Relax:

Last but not least, when you're organizing your time and your business, be sure to put aside some time for relaxation.

Make time for your family. You must not involve yourself in anything to an extent that you exclude other people - particularly your loved ones - from your life.

Taking stock of the time you waste each day, and from there, reorganizing your activities is what it's all about. It's a matter of becoming more efficient in the use of your time.

Why Start a Home Business?

There's nothing quite like the feeling of being your own boss. Working from the comfort of your own home is a dream for many and can be a lucrative, rewarding career. But do you have what it takes to be successful? Let's review why so many people aspire to check out of corporate life and start their own home business.

Being Your Own Boss - The number one reason people start their own home business it to be their own boss. No longer will you be responsible for answering to another person every day. No more artificial deadlines or destructive corporate politics to manuever around. Being your own boss will allow you to rapidly and efficeintly act on opportunities as they arise. However, even the simplest ideas take hard work and money to become reality and as a startup home business you probably have limited capital, so you will need to search out efficient ways to operate and concentrate on projects that can be completed quickly. Remember being your own boss requires a certain work ethic. With no one enforcing deadlines and sales quotas you can become easily distracted. That comfortable bed and big screen television in the other room can look mighty tempting!!

Setting Your Own Work Hours - When you have a 30 second commute from your living room to your home office, you can be very flexible with your daily schedule. Running a home business allows you to set the hours you wish to work, especially if you have no employees to keep track of. Better yet, if you run an Online home business you can operate your business anytime, even online at 2:00 a.m. You'll have the ability to work with people in different time zones or even different countries. You'll also have the ability to set your own Vacation Schedule. No more vacation worksheets and request forms. No waiting for coworkers with more senioroty to get back from their vacations. You can schedule your vacation during any season and even take advantage of last minute travel bargains. Unlimited Job Security - No corporate cutbacks or unexpected early retirement. The only one who can fire you is YOU. Of course without a solid work ethic you can end up "Virtually Laid Off" when you run out of money from lack of business. With unlimited job security comes responsibility. Remember, you are the responsible party. The buck stops with you. It is your responsibility to become successful.

No Commute - With gas over $3.00 a gallon it's getting ridiculously expensive to commute to and from work each day. Many workers in California and other large cities commute 100 or more miles a day by car. The previously mentioned "30 Second Commute" from your bedroom to your office is one of the best perks of operating a home business. But remember not to fall into bad habits. Set a daily schedule and stick to it. Dress for success. Just because you can lay around in your PJ's doesn't mean you should. Dress and act professionally and your busines success will follow.

Family Time - Traditional employment allows very little time to spend with your family during the work week. You stumble along week to week and then one day you notice how fast the children are growing up and realize all of the important milestones you have missed in their life. While it's great to be around your family during the day, you have to guard against spending too much time with them when you are trying to work. When your spouse and children know you will be home all day they are more likely to ask you to do housework, run errands, do car pool duty, etc. Set some groundrules and let them know that just because you are home doesn't mean that you are not working. When you are in your office you ARE working and should not be disturbed. Only you can set the parameters of when and where you will spend family time.

Can A Home-Based Business Work?

In one word, YES! The greatest benefit of running a home-based business is that the choices are unlimited. You can create a home-based business that is geared around your hobbies and interests. No matter what it is you can turn it into a home based business, whether it is painting, marketing, graphic design or any thing you can dream up, can work for you. The main reason people refrain from beginning their home-based business is the lack of money. They feel that to create a successful business that strong financial backing is needed.

The true fact is that there are many different home-based business options available that cost little to no money to start up. It is highly likely that everything needed to begin your home-based business is sitting in front of you right now!

That leads to the question, what should I look for in a home-based business?

The internet provides you with a host of information regarding the answers to the question. There are literally hundreds of web sites available all over the internet that promises large profits for no money up front. While these likely sound very good to the ears, a large number of these web sites have no other purpose than to take your money. Do not get me wrong, there are some legitimate options, but the scammers ruin it for these companies. The most important thing is to be completely honest with potential customers. Do no fabricate any aspect of your business; do not inflate income or numbers at all.

Is A Home Based Business Right for Me?

We’ve all seen the ads shouting “Make Thousands of Dollars While You Sleep!”, “Make Money the eBay Way!”, and so many more. You think “Wouldn’t it be great to make a little extra money to do ‘fill-in-the-blank’?” Or, “maybe I can make enough to finally quit my 9 to 5 job.” You get excited and whip out the credit card and happily pay $50 or $100 for your ticket to freedom. You get your product and find out it involves a great deal of complicated HTML programming or countless hours spent at rummage sales looking for your next great deal. You become discouraged and think that you’re doomed to slave away at that 9 to 5 for the rest of your life. It doesn’t have to be that way. Let us show you how to pick the right Home Based Business Idea that will make you happy and financially secure.

Do your research
As I’m sure you’re well aware by now, there are a lot of people out there looking to get your money. Every one of them is willing to tell you that their system, book, or website holds the keys to your desired lifestyle. Not all of them are scammers, but make sure you know who you are dealing with before you jump in. Some things to check out: Look for a physical address, check out all businesses with the Better Business Bureau, and use common sense. A general rule of thumb, if it sounds too good to be true – it probably is.

What interests you?
It is extremely important that you chose a Home Based Business Idea which involves something that interests you. If you like what you are doing it doesn’t seem like work. This is great all the time, but especially important at the beginning when you’re working in your spare time to get the business off the ground. The last thing you want to do after a long day at work is to come home and work some more. But if your passion is your dog and you have a pet-based business then you will look forward to working on it. Basically, turn your interests into income.

How much of an investment are you willing to make?
This is a business and no business can be started without an investment. Investment means both time and money. Fortunately, time is money and if you have little money to invest you can make up the difference with time or if you don’t want to spend the time, you can increase your initial cash investment. Fortunately, with the advent of the internet you can get a business up and running with much less of a time and cash investment as compared to an old fashioned “brick-and-mortar” style business.

Don’t quit your job!
That’s right; don’t quit your job just yet. Even if you’ve done your do diligence and think you really have something, you’ll want your regular salary to fall back on while you’re getting your business off the ground.

Are Work at Home Jobs Possible Or Are They All Pure Scams?

I'm pretty sure you have come across hundreds (if not thousands) of "Work at Home" ads all over the place. In fact, you can find these work at home ads posted anywhere; for instance, you've probably seen them on telephone and street light poles around your neighborhood, your local daily newspaper, and ultimately on the World Wide Web (the Internet). So what's the deal with this "work at home" business? Is it just hype or can you really work from home as the ads claim? Read on for the truth you must know about working at home jobs.

First of all, there are two facts about working at home: There are legitimate work at home opportunities, but there are also work at home scams just as in most cases in this life. Being able to work from the comfort of your home might sound like a very interesting idea; and in fact, it is. After all, who wouldn't like to work at home and at the same time earn huge amounts of money? But then again, the work at home world is full of hype, so as a work at home job seeker, you must be extra cautious in not falling for a possible work at home scam.

Unfortunately, there are always scammers looking to rip off honest, hard-working people through very sneaky ways. These scammers take advantage of people's desire to work at home as a way to better their financial situation. The main reason these scammers are successful in taking people's money is because many times work at home jobs seekers become so excited about the great idea of being able to make money working from home that they become distracted and forget about the possibility of falling victim to a scammer. I mean, what scam would work if there were no willing victims? Since work at home schemes are appealing to many people who are just starting to get their feet wet in this industry (especially online), they can be very easy victims to experienced scammers.

You'll find that many of the "work at home" jobs you see being offered do not tell you the whole story behind their scheme. They intentionally leave out many facts including the fact that the work at home job you plan to apply for may cover several hours of work without pay! Sometimes, they don't even reveal all the costs required from you if you want to get that work at home job you've seen on the ads.

The truth of the matter is that many (if not most) of these work at home schemes require you to invest some of your own money beforehand. But why? Their usual answer to this question is that the money you give them will be spent on supplies or equipment (newspaper ads, envelopes, photocopies, paper, stamps, etc.) that will be needed to do the job. Sometimes they'll also tell you the money may also be used to pay for a especial "tutorial" that these work at home companies require you to take as well as the instructions you need in order to get started using a particular software involved in such work at home job. Therefore, generally speaking, these work at home schemes don't always guarantee you will earn big money, not at all! In fact, you could end up in the opposite side - losing all of your money with nothing in return :-(

There have been several people who have fallen victim to these sort of work at home scams. People who simply want to earn an extra income from the comfort of their homes find themselves cheated by con artists who take advantage of their financial situation. No doubt there are legitimate companies out there offering real work at home jobs for those interested. Unfortunately, work at home scams abound and it has become harder to find legitimate work at home jobs the easy way. So, if you are planning on trying one of those work at home jobs you've seen posted somewhere on some ads, do your research carefully to avoid falling victim to the scammers!

Secret Wholesale Sources

Introduction

In our country today, everyone is trying to save money. No matter what you want to buy, you're always trying to find the best deal. Very few people have enough money to buy something the first time they see it. Most will shop around at many stores before buying an item, especially something, which costs over $20. It's a fact of life that prices will vary by huge amounts from store to store. There can even be two stores right next to each other offering an item at very different prices. Most people are not getting the best price for what they are buying. In a recent survey of 300 shoppers published in the Wall Street Journal, 82% of those interviewed thought they could have made their most recent purchase at a better price if they had looked around more carefully.

None of this is new to you. You've probably already found the best bargain stores in your area to buy all the things you need on a regular basis.

However, there is something that you may not know about: did you know that you actually can buy many products at even lower prices than the best discount store in your area? How is this possible? By buying at wholesale prices. By buying products at the same place that your local store buys. This is what we would like to explain to you now: how to buy almost anything you need at wholesale, so that you can cut your spending by 50%.

In short, the purpose of this book is to show you how to save money on all your purchases by buying products at wholesale prices. In addition to showing you some sources for many different types of products, this book will give you some tips on how to negotiate the best prices and will show you how you can use this knowledge of buying at wholesale to make some extra income for yourself.

Finally, for those who really want to get into this as a business, which will allow you to save the most money on your purchases and have a good income outside of your present job, this book will explain the basic steps necessary to set up your own business including how you can obtain a line of credit of $5,000 to help you get started, and where to get all your business stationery and equipment at the lowest possible wholesale prices.

For all this information, just turn the page and enjoy this journey into the world of wholesaling!

Buying Wholesale Versus Buying Discount

How much money can you really save if you buy at wholesale prices? To answer this, let's look at the profit structure of the retail market.

Most retail stores will mark up the price of their products 100%, or double their own cost. In this example, you can obviously save 50% of your money if you make your purchase directly from the wholesaler, instead of buying from the store. Essentially, by buying directly from the wholesaler, you are not paying any service premium to the retail store. The retail store can charge more than the wholesaler because it is more convenient for the buyer to find most products in a retail store than to hunt around for a wholesaler that does not have a prime storefront location in the middle of town.

Also, many wholesalers will not sell items to an individual consumer; they will only do business with an established business that will buy in volume from the wholesaler. Often the wholesaler will have minimum purchase requirements, which can be as low as $500.00 or as high as $20,000.00. Basically, most people accept retail prices as a fact of life because it takes some extra effort and time to figure out how to reach the wholesaler directly, and in many cases, it just is not possible to deal with the wholesaler, unless you are an actual business (which is a good way to get wholesale prices and which will be the topic of a later chapter).

Now let's look at the structure of discount pricing, which is what most people look for in saving their money. When a store offers discount prices, they will not mark up the item 100%; they will offer a discount from the full retail price of 20-40%. They still need to make a profit, so they won't reduce the price 50%, but they are making less of a profit in the hopes of getting people to do business with them. As an example, take an item that normally sells for $100. The store paid $50 for that item. Instead of charging $100, the store may discount that item to $80 or even $60. At the lowest discount you can save $40. However, that doesn't give you as much of a saving as buying the item yourself for $50 directly from the wholesaler. In other words, even the best discount value will not be as good as buying the item at wholesale.

The only exceptions to this rule are liquidation or closeout sales, where the store sells the item at below its own cost, because it must regain some of its original investment in the merchandise. In this case, you may get a better deal from the store than if you went directly to the wholesaler, but these cases are not easy to find and don't occur very often.

Another point about buying from a discount store is that you have to be careful about how many of their products are really being offered at discounts. A common strategy is to lure buyers into the store with large discounts off normal retail prices on a few popular items. Then when you are in the store, many of the other items will be selling at full retail price. In many cases, you just won't be able to tell if an item in that store is full retail or discounted, since it's impossible to do price comparisons on every item when you're in the store itself.

So far, we've been using the example of a typical 100% markup. There are many types of products that are not marked up that much, but the overall principles discussed still apply. For example, products in the electronics business are not marked up as much as gift items. In other words, an answering machine, considered an electronics product, will be marked up only 50% by the retail store. Consequently, the discount offered by a discounter of electronic goods will not be as high as 40%; it will be closer to the range of 15-30%.
