Home Business Bank Account

Many people think that starting a home business is not as serious as starting an operation that would have an outside office. When it comes down to it, this is far from the truth. No matter where you will be working from, you need to take your day to day work seriously. Opening one of these bank accounts should be among the first steps that you take when you start your home business.

Why do you need a separate account for your home business? First and foremost, this is essential for staying organized. After all, you want to know how much money you are earning, as well as what your expenses are. When you do not mix and match your business and personal cash, this is much easier to do.

Opening a home business bank account should be relatively easy. The first thing that you have to do is head to your local bank. You can use the same financial institution that provides you with your personal banking service. Of course, this is not mandatory. A member of the bank staff should be able to explain all of their business accounts, and then help you choose the one that will be best suited to your home business. Make sure that you get a thorough explanation as to what each type of account has to offer.

Overall, to keep your home business running effectively, you need to consider opening a separate bank account. This will help to keep your money in a safe place, while also assisting with the overall organization of your business. In the end, you will be glad that your work related money has a home of its own!

The reason behind such failures can be solely attributed to the lack of planning. Thus, proper planning is the pre-requisite for starting a home based business. With certain amount of planning involved in starting a home based business, let us now look at what they are actually. Certain crucial questions are to be answered when planning the home based business.

1. Before getting started with your own home based business, be clear about your skills, talents and your interests. Figure out the things which you basically enjoy doing, and also the things which you are amazingly good at. These assessments would help you make money easily as you may put them to optimum use through the home based business you start.

Using Leverage in Your Home Based Business

I've been self employed for over 20 years and for the most part, I love it. But the trouble with being "your own boss" is that you are also you own employee and you can end up working just as hard, being a slave to your work, every bit as much as working for someone else. And my boss (me) can be a real slave driver too.

Working in a service based business as I have (design and web design) also means trading hours for dollars as surely as if you were punching a clock. And no matter how high your hourly rate gets, there are only so many productive hours in a day. So there is a natural cap on how much you can make.

The only way to blast through that ceiling is to take advantage of the concept of leverage. Folks talk about OPM - other peoples money - and that is a form of financial leverage. I want to talk about OPW - other peoples work - as a way to leverage the work and efforts of others.

I recently discovered (and about time too) the beauties and joys of outsourcing some of my consulting work. I found through a service called Rent a Coder a very talented and hungry programmer in Ukraine that does amazingly great work for very little money (in US dollars anyway).

Instead of banging my head against the wall to learn Action Script, I can now hire Oleh in the Ukraine to do the work and still charge my client my own US standard hourly rate. I am now manager and creative director and no longer the worker bee.

And I am leveraging the expertise and labor of Oleh to accomplish the job needed, offering a great service to my client, giving interesting and challenging work to Oleh and with both of us making money. It's a win-win-win and I do not know why it took me so long to learn how to do this.

I am now hiring a part time assistant in India who is trained in all the aspects of search marketing, to do the tedious postings and submissions that I do not care to do or have time to do. But that $400 per month I spend on this assistant I can leverage into thousands of dollars in revenues per month.

Outsourcing is a science and art in itself and beyond the scope of this article. For a great all around outsourcing service, see Sylvia Fortin's Workaholics For Hire. The key, as Sylvia will tell you, is not to hire some individual out on his own somewhere, but to hire a project manager that can in turn delegate to the right person, the particular task you require.

Another form of leverage is in working 2 tier or multi level marketing businesses. Now, MLM has a tainted reputation for good reason: much of it is crap and based on inflated prices of some not so great product so that the founders and early adopters can make money. However the concept of multi level marketing is sound and there are good companies and good opportunities out there. And it is a good example of leveraging the efforts of others to accomplish your goals.

Someone said: "I would rather have 5% of the efforts of 100 people than 100% of my own". That's the beauty of leverage: you work to sell your program and train your front line, then collect residuals from the work that THEY do, while you are off on your next project, or perhaps relaxing on the beach in Fuji.

I have been though many such programs, have seen the value but not made any money. Now, I am making money in a program that is not really multi-level but is simply 2-tier. That is, I make money on all the sales of my front line, but not beyond that. But in this case, that is fine because I earn $200 on each sale of my front line and $600 on each of my own direct sales.

The company is called Abunza and is now in pre-launch so is riding the wave of energy of what is certain to be a huge company in the early stages. You can learn more about this opportunity by following the link below.

When starting a home based business, it is important that you create a feasibility plan for it. This feasibility study will serve as your blueprint to success and a master plan to cover every aspect of your business.

Make you plan as simple as possible. Cover just the major and essential areas of your business. Basically you should have a plan for setting up the business. You should have a detailed study for product acquisition, pricing, marketing and distribution. Good Work At Home Websites

With some many websites and blogs and trillions of Web pages on the Internet it is sometimes hard to find the sites that offer more information than ads. Below are a few sites I am familiar with and the reasons why I recommended them.

Good Forum

WAHM
There are numerous ideas here for those who want to work from home. While some may find WAHM (Work at Home Mom) to have too many ads, its forums are very useful for those just getting started in working at home. The large message board offers forums for freelance writers, Web designers, and bloggers. There are also specific forums for those involved in various direct sales businesses such as Avon, Pampered Chef, Shaklee, Mary Kay and Ameriplan. For those interested in telecommuting jobs there are sections for virtual assistants, transcriptionists, and customer service reps. Some forums easily go off-topic and few of the regulars seem to care. Many posts are of the "how do I get started" nature and the responses are generally helpful.

Good Business Information

Entrepreneur
This is the online version of the monthly magazine. There are endless articles here on how to start a business, and run a business successfully. More importantly this site offers specific business ideas. There is a huge section just on franchises. You can find your dream business by niche market or by start-up costs. There is another section on direct sales companies, some of which you can start with just a $10 investment. Whether you are interested in starting a doggy day care center, or selling your quilts on eBay, there is plenty of information on the site to get you started as an entrepreneur. The site is definitely worth a visit, especially if you are having a trouble deciding on what type of business to go into.

Good Inspiration

Beliefnet
This site has nothing to do with business per se, but it is one of my favorite sites. Beliefnet deals with all religions, all faiths and all spiritual paths. There is something here for everyone, even those who are atheist or agnostic. There are forums that allow you to respectfully ask questions about a particular religion, fun quizzes, prayer circles, memorials, newsletters, book and movie reviews and anything else you can think of regarding your soul or spirit. This site will not help you to make money without a job but it will help you to balance your life better and offer inspiration and support when you may need it most. I highly recommend this unique and wonderful site.

TO WORK FOR A BOSS OR WORK FROM HOME ... A Tough Decision

If you are like most people, chances are that you are fed up with work; commuting day after day, sitting in a stuffy office (or dealing with wayward kids, or people) being overworked and bringing home just enough to pay the bills and have a bit left over. Next to that working from home seems an excellent idea ... or is it?

Studies show that not all people are cut out for working for themselves. Self employment is like any work or business it has its perils, like motivation, skills, application on personal level needs to optimal to gain success. The studies have also shown, that not all people in employment situation that are working for small firm or large corporations aren't very good at what they are doing. Therefore the there is fine line between success and failure in employment, business, home based business or even sport. For different people or situations there skill level and the fitness to succeed my just not be there. Sometimes people just don't have the drive to succeed. The home business person has to be self resilient to set backs. Like in any job sometimes they find it too lonely. To succeed in any life application you need to be good encasement of your self drive skills, time factor application to tasks, in order to be successful.

Most people dream of working for themselves, whereas only some are willing to try it. The "safety" of a salaried position is a difficult one to give up. The few who are willing to try it usually give up their jobs to do so, insuring their success. In contrast, most people who try self-employment do so part time, thereby not giving themselves the time or the space to persevere and follow through, as the "safety net" takes all their time and effort. Also most home businesses are Network Marketing or Direct Sales related, and as we know sales take a lot of effort, and most people do not have it in them to succeed. Indeed, people who succeed at such business endeavors are those who have a stubborn will to succeed, and make sure they do the training and equip themselves with what they need to succeed.

If you fall in this category of people who have decided to succeed no matter what, and are taking the steps to make sure they do, you might just find that working from home on a Network Marketing or Direct Selling business give you the enormous benefits.

You can see that the benefit of starting a business from home, in the Direct Sales Industry or Network Marketing, or Sales far outweigh the risks and is way better than working for a boss. However, you need to be the type of person that has his goal in front of him all the time and who calculates every move he makes as either bringing him closer to his goal or taking him further away from it.

The successful person will make sure that the kind of activities he does would be the kind that take him closer to his goal. The successful person will be stubborn in the sense that he will not do anything that takes him further away from his goal.

Before starting a Home Based Business you need to take number of steps or assessments in order to be able to follow through to your ultimate dream or running a very successful Home Based Business. There isn't point to enter any business if you aren't thinking of reaching great heights. The goal setting or are bar has to be set extremely high otherwise what will drive you to accomplish something?

· You need to chose something you will love doing

· Research your future business

· How competitive the market is

· Who your competition is

· Find niche market

· What is your competition doing are they successful

· Are reading the right literature

· Are taking on board a person that is successful to learn from

· Are you in environment that is positive and energy driven

· You will need to have a mentor and coach

· You will need leader

· You will need to be able to take failure and set backs

· Set your goals financially and personally

· You need to become new and different person

· Live behind your past and move on

Is any one able to achieve something in Home Business the answer is clear and blunt no! Why not for simple reason and the t statistics 80% of business fail within first five years. From 20% that have survived first five years 80% will fail in ten years.

Don't be afraid of failure successful people don't use failure in term of word as a failure but the way how not to do business or things. The rewards in success both financially and spiritually are colossal.

How To Make Money With No Capital Outlay

Selling items wholesale on Amazon is one of the easiest and quickest ways of making money online. It is very simple to set up a seller account and completely free.

You can list as many items as you wish and the big advantage over auction sites is that there are no upfront listing fees. Fees are only deducted when you sell an item. This is a big plus for someone just starting out or on a very tight budget, as the fee is deducted from the sale price and thus the money that Amazon transfers to your bank account is pure profit.

You can buy items in small lots or wholesale at greatly reduced prices and sell them direct. The markup that you add is completely your decision and Amazon leaves you free to choose your own price.

The other option to buying wholesale is to go the dropshipping route. Dropshipping is when you only need to buy single items and the dropshipper will pack and post it direct to the customer. You therefore don't have to pay for any stock upfront, or have the space to store it, as you only need to purchase an item from the dropshipper once the customer has placed an order with you.

Again this is ideal for someone with no startup capital as you only need to pay for an item once the customer has paid you. You also don't need to do any packing and take numerous trips to the post office or courier service.

Using this method you can literally list thousands of products on Amazon and only pay a fee or pay for the item once it has sold. Zero risk for you and no money outlaid at the start.

Amazon is a very professional company with brilliant customer service, quick payment of money earned, straight into your bank account and more importantly they have thousands and thousands of people visiting their website every day. The perfect storefront for you and your wares.

Proven Ways To Drive Targeted Website Visitors To Your Home Business Website

If you have any home based business, then you must work hard to have a very good understanding of it. You must learn all you could about the products, services, reward incentives or compensation plan. This is because you need a proper understanding of these things to excel and win customers over in order to make the sale.

Knowing what to say about your home business is what matters in any encounter with any prospect. That is the information that will arm you in properly driving people to your business and succeeding when you do so very well.

However, if you work online, you will need a good deal of the same information to pass on to your prospects. In fact the bulk of marketing and driving traffic to your home business depends on the type of information you spread about your business.

In driving effective and highly targeted website visitors, the same thing applies. One of the most effective traffic generation techniques that can get people onto your website is the use of forums.

You will need to locate forums in your market by typing and searching for it using the search engines. Locate at least 2 - 3 forums with up to 3,000 to 20,000 0r more in population. Join and converse with everyone on a daily basis.

The best way to get more exposure to your home business this way is through the use of your signature link. You need to link to your website from your signature and add a little attention grabbing title, then your link.

When you post comments, questions, tips and replies to all enquiries, you will notice that soon many people using the forum would want to check you out to know what you have to say. This way you will be driving very targeted traffic to your home based business.

However, NEVER advertise your link indiscriminately, otherwise you would be tagged spammy and you will hurt your reputation badly.

If You Operate A Home Business Online or Offline, Don't Even Think About Hiding From The IRS

Before I get into the meat of this article I want you to know that I am not an accountant or a CPA. All statements below are based on my many years of running my businesses from home. When the subject comes up I always make this fervent wish: "May you pay $1,000,000 in income taxes!"

Think about it. That would be a fantastic blessing, would it not?

Even though I look for ways to boost my business earnings, I would never consider cheating the IRS. It's wrong and it's not worth the stress ulcers. Besides, it's such an unnecessary risk. When you go down that road, you'll always be looking over your shoulder, wondering when you'll hear the knock at the door. Keep your peace of mind. This will help you be very successful in your business.By paying our self employment taxes you are also building up your social security retirement income. Talk to your accountant to learn more about that.

First and foremost, the IRS gives you enough room to roam as far as your write-offs. Why take a chance and make your life miserable when you get a call from the IRS? My experience in life tells me that the IRS gets more angry if you understate your income than overstate your expenses. I'm not by any means suggesting that you fib at all with your expenses. Just put the maximum into the form that you honestly believe are allowed. Usually that will keep you out of trouble.

But if the IRS gets wind that you intentionally understated your income, then you better be worried.

The idea of "innocent until proven guilty" doesn't work with the IRS (as it really does not work in the court system, but that's another story). If you make any regular online sales, you might have to persuade the tax man that you don't have an online business. And it will definitely be up to you to do the persuading. I wouldn't worry much if I sold a couple of items after cleaning out the basement. In fact I don't know the IRS rule on that.

But if you sell stuff regularly then be sure to claim the income from those sales. The IRS is finding new ways to hunt down online payments, even though it's not very easy. There are dedicated teams currently probing the internet (and Ebay) searching for clandestine online businesses.

Be aware: if you have any online money deposited into your bank account, the IRS can trace it. So, even if you're feeling lucky, don't try to pull it off. And don't try the "ignorance of the law" routine. It's never worked yet, and it won't work in the future.

Protecting Yourself

If you are looking to get started in online business, there are several things you can do to protect yourself. Don't go the path of many internet businesses who are so caught up in getting started that they overlook the things they need to protect their company. Even if you're simply an employee, an individual, you also need to know how to protect yourself.

Keep thorough records. This is the easiest and best place to start when it comes to protecting yourself. Records are the first line of defense for any snags that arise from your online work. Make sure they're detailed and accurate, containing all the information you might need if the IRS comes looking for you.

Financial records are a must. If you don't know how to prepare them, or if working with financial records makes you uncomfortable, hire an accountant. There are several in your city, or you may even choose an internet accountant.

No matter which route you choose, the sooner you start keeping financial records, the better. Don't wait until you've been in business a year before you start bookkeeping!

If you make transactions online, many sites (such as Paypal and Clickbank) will give you access to transaction logs so you can keep track of your income and expenses. So do it yourself or hire someone else. It doesn't matter which, just do it!

In addition to financial records, you will need to keep track of other information related to your business. Keeping these records on your computer is a convenient way to find the details you need at a moment's notice.

Set up individual files for these areas:

Business connections. Personal details such as name and address, phone, email, company name, and conversation notes can prove to be invaluable later on.

Media connections. Again, keeping personal details such as name and address, phone, email, media type and name, and conversation notes will come in handy for future reference.

Business proposals you have submitted and obtained. All contracts you have accepted! You will find this to be a valuable personal reference, especially if your business takes off and you forget what you promised to whom. All written material (such as ebooks or articles) you have submitted to a buyer and the outcome of those jobs.

Certainly you can think of more items that need to be filed. Consider this just a start.
